Are you sure about that, Larry. It's a pain killer and a sleep aid, but you are saying it shortens the life of a herpes outbreak?

Kevin i am 10 and i have iritis please can someone help me find a cure before it is to late Iritis (eyeritis) is often related to auto-immune disorders, for instance rheumatoid arthritis or herpes. Has your optomologist advised you to have a check out with your doc? Might be a good idea. Your right eye suggests issues with the practical things in life that you don't 'want to see'. Work perhaps?

Hi, hey I have something to add to this. I've had eyeritis/Iritis for many years. It's brought on usually by some kind of trauma. Severe allergies, arthritis, pinkeye, and any other kind of illness can trigger it. People who usually are affected with iritis have, from my understanding, a strain on their immune system and their eyes are a weak spot for them. I also experienced for the first time this year, occular migraines (sp?). Anyway, when your eyes become large and swollen and watery from it (and hurt like heck) its because the iritis causes subconjuntival hemorrhaging. So...I guess the best advice I can give you since I was nearly 8 years free of this until now, is take supplements of vitamins and I recommend an immune defense herbal supplement with echinacea and extra vitamin C and zinc as well. My iritis has always occured when my immune system is completely taxed. I try to alleve my arthritis with lots of exercise and use supplements to boost my immune system. This month, I haven't been very good about it and though I've been exercising, I've been plagued with every cold and childhood disease my kids can bring home, so my body just couldn't hack it I guess. Anyway, good luck to anyone who reads this post and needs help! I think seeing a regular doctor in this is best and THEN an opthomologist. Optometrists, not so much.

But they only treat, with anti-viral cream (cream in the eye - horrible!), oral anti-biotics and eye-drops, all of which suppress the immune system even further. The only immune system advice advice I've managed to prise out of them is "Eat a good diet".

It's about your mental diet.
We do, after all, work here with the idea of the INNER cause.
Iritis sounds like / looks like eyes crying - so it would be interesting to see what happened when the symptom began. If one eye is affected and not the other, it would be interesting to see if it is the male eye or the female eye, something about not seeing the male or not seeing the female - or whether it is the will eye or the emotional eye - is it the person's will or their emotions that are crying?

I have just been diagnosed with eyeritis in my left eye. I was told by the DR. that it was a mild case. Six years ago I was also told this. I did not know that it can be cause by stress. I am a single mother of a 16 yr old son. The Dr. gave me a sulfa eye drop and an oral antibiotic just in case it was a nasal infection because he was not really sure. What kind of supplements can I take? I was also told by the Dr. that if it was shingles the eye drops could ruin my cornea. What should I do?

We are not working here with supplements, though perhaps someone posting here might have some ideas. We work more with the inner cause of the symptom.
I would look at what was happening in your life when the symptom began. Something in your social life, perhaps, and the sense of not having something to look forward to in terms of your life as a woman...
That would be the thing that has to change in your consciousness in order to release the symptom.
