We took our 3-year old son to an opthalmologist first at age 1 and then last November (before turning 3) since we were suspicious of strabismus (one of his eyes seemed to be sliding). Last November the doctor said no issue, it seemed like the eyes were sliding because of the nose bone structure. Our pediatrician advised us to see another opthalmologist last month. Luckily we followed her advice and the new doctor confirmed the diagnosis of no sliding (again looks like it due to bone structure) but became suspicious of amblyopia (lazy eye). After some tests, she discovered that the left eye was pretty lazy and it turned out that he had hyperopia and was prescribed w/glasses: +1.75 (right eye) and +2 (left eye). She also wants us to patch the "good" eye 1 hour a day so that the lazy eye improves. We will go for another check in 3-4 months.
As soon as we learned about the situation, my sister (who attended 2 of your healing workshops) and I started the healing process. (I tried to carry out her instructions and let white light go through him as I visualized him). Also being a reiki practicer, I believe in energy and that problems can be cured via energy.
We will continue to carry out energy healing, but in the meanwhile we're also carrying out the doctor's instructions by making him wear the glasses as much as possible and patching one eye for an hour a day.
But I want to be sure that glasses are definitely necessary as it's so hard for a very active child to wear glasses. We just got the glasses yesterday, should we continue with the glasses?
What could be the underlying reason for this situation? A bit of info about him: He is a lovely, smart, clever, cute and observant child with good manners, great social skills, gets along well with other children, easily initiates contact with and talks to even strangers , is very emphatic -bonds with children who cry for example and tries to lure them back into play--, has great communication skills well above the level expected at his age (impresses everyone who hear him speak), but also very strong-willed, wants to have things his own way, also very attached to routines and the way things are usually done.
He is an only child and is loved by everyone in the family, parents, grandparents etc. He is very attached to his father and nearly always prefers to do everything with him rather than me.
He has very fair skin, blondish hair and as is the case with this type of skin, pretty allergic. He has allergic bronschiolit and experiences breathing problems whenever he gets a bad cold. We use spray regularly to prevent this. Recently (in January) he also developed eczema, but we got over this first attack and with good moisturizing and limiting allergic nutrition we have not had a repetition so far.
Any suggestions about his breathing and eczema situation would also be helpful, but our current focus is his eyesight. What should we do about it?
Would hyperopia diminish by wearing glasses and if so by what age? (i.e. how long would he be wearing glasses?) How long would the "covering" treatment continue to take care of the lazy eye situation? I kown that these would vary from child to child , but a a rough average timing would also be helpful. Are we talking about weeks, months or years in each case for example?
Is there anyone whose child has gone through a similar process? How have you handled it? How has the situation progressed?
Sorry to keep it so long, but wanted to create a full picture. Thanks a lot in advance for your answer and support
