Greetings all,
This past weekend I went on an intensive retreat to work on the Bates techniques. I went without any corrective lenses for 3 days and experienced a lot of improvement.
I dropped 2.0-2.5 diopters prescription in each eye and am seeing much more clearly now, overall. I started out at -5.5 diopters on the left, -5.75 in the right eye, no astigmatism. I'm currently seeing clearly with a -3.5 or -3.0 diopters in the daytime (stronger prescription at night, but that's coming along too). Whenever possible I try to go without any glasses or lenses at all, to break my dependence on them, only putting them on when the situation demands that I see very clearly (e.g., some work situations; driving a car). Anyway, before I started the intensive weekend work on my eyes, I could not even look through those particular pairs of glasses without a lot of discomfort because they were so blurry. Now they are what I use to see clearly when I need to.
My next shipment of 3 pairs of glasses arrived in the mail today. Of course they are of successively lower prescriptions, so that I have something to move into as my eyes continue to improve.
For me, I have found that my vision is very closely related to my emotional state. Relaxation is hugely important, instead of holding tension. Whenever I open up and feel (instead of block) my deepest feelings at my core, I experience emotional discharge and flashes of really clear vision, *every time*. In this way I am coming to deeply understand (not just intellectually know, like from reading these posts) that for me, the vision is just a side effect of a different way of being in the world. Just like Sir Martin says; now I am having my own experience of it.
Many thanks to Sir Martin and all of you for the work you're doing in this world, helping people realize what can really be possible.
Much love,
Veganskater
