I can now read the top line on the eye chart from 12 inches away! My vision was -10 and I notice this is an improvement. What I've noticed is that instead of seeing the letter x as an x on the eyechart I tend to see it as a diamond shape, sometimes this diamond shape will have 4 corners sticking out of it. I've also noticed I tend to see the z as having a clear white line exactly through the middle horizontally. Especially with the x it got me thinking if I see things that distorted from what I know them to be and I find it incredible to see the x so differently, what else am I seeing so distortedly in my life. I have to say it has shaken my belief in myself a bit. I have always thought myself to be very aware of what is going on and I tend to see little playoffs going on within situations or see things about others that they may not be aware of, so how can I not see what is really there. The best way I can describe how I feel about the x is denial. A part of me wants the x to really be a diamond so that I have been seeing correctly all along. I know that sounds crazy but if the diamond is really an x how am I going to cope relearning everything if I am to be able to deal with life.
???I see my control issues coming up here.
Re-reading this post I see that I seem to see what is going on in other peoples lives but don't see or won't look at what's going on within me and my life. But aren't nearsighted people more obsessed with me? Or maybe I am obsessed with me but won't look at what is in my life and what needs to change? And what's great in my life that I don't see or look at?
