Hello Martin and Happy Birthday, I’m Giovanni, the person who started the thread “Distant Vision, Mom” some days ago.
I understand from your book that myopia is a tension which represents seeing the world throught a fear filter and retreating inwards: a contraction of one’s perceptual field. So the solution is reprogramming one’s consciousness to get rid of the fear filter and being willing to come out and be visible with a sense of relaxation that comes from a new perception of trust in the world and in the people.
I understand also that during this mind reprogramming process there are some “external remedies” that one can use to accelerate the vision healing: doing palming, sunning, hatha yoga eye exercises etc. I would like to know what you think about a particular kind of external remedy proposed by some vision improvement researchers: the use of plus lenses for nearsightedness. William Horatio Bates said that nearsightedness is not related to excessive near work. Some more modern vision improvement researchers don’t think so: they think that excessive near work (reading and computer) actually is an important factor in the development of nearsightedness so they propose the use of plus lenses or reading glasses (normally used in farsightedness) to treat nearsightedness since such lenses set the image of a near object farther away.
What are your ideas about plus lenses as “external remedy” in nearsightedness? and what do you think about near work?
Thank you Giovanni

Interesting concept Giovanni, My first thought is that you would still be forcing your eyes to adapt to abnormal vision (the lens) in order to see clearly. And also the act of wearing glasses of any kind provides an emotional "frame" to hide behind which is exactly the problem with nearsighted people. So I'm not to keen on that idea. But hey, whatever works for you Have a great day! Maria

Well, they are still glasses, and they do take the person away from the concept that it is all about what is happening in their consciousness.
