At the moment Martin it feels more like a step backwards. More like an abdication of my personal power.
However by avoiding this kind of situation I expect to see some benefit over the longer term.
Another message for me is that i need to own and accept the amount of power i have. Ie much less power than i imagine i have.
Already by saying this i feel like i have a bit more power back.

Andrew - you are not listening.
When you own your freedom and stop deciding what others should think or do, you acknowledge their freedom also - and that is what I call owning your power. Your true freedom is your true power.
If you think you have lost something, you will try to get it back, and then you will be stepping backwards into the world of control and manipulation that you have already acknowledged as not working for you.

what aspect of the following do people find so hard to understand?
"by avoiding this kind of situation I expect to see some benefit over the longer term"
Hello?
Good bye!! I dont need this kind of abuse

Too bad you saw it as abuse. It was intended to help you realize something.
It was about "At the moment Martin it feels more like a step backwards. More like an abdication of my personal power."
...and rather than avoiding this kind of situation, it would be about not having to feel threatened by this sort of situation.
...and saying, "i need to own and accept the amount of power i have. Ie much less power than i imagine i have," you imply that you have less power than you thought, rather than seeing yourself as having unlimited powere, as we all do.
Anyway, if your intuition tells you to no longer participate here, follow that and trust it.
Best wishes for success on your path.

Martin it seems self evident that i dont have unlimited power at the moment
I think we need to learn how to be powerful, otherwise we tend to get affected by the what power others have to influence our lives
So...i *do* have less power to affect change than i thought i had. And i dont see that as a bad thing. It could be also called being grounded
Power is not much good if it cannot be used. Its a bit more complicated than for example a battery.
Yes i might be fully charged and ready to go but i am useless if there is no device ready to use me. First i might have to build that device

Ok I really tried to stay out of this. Andrew...you do have total and complete power...over yourself It doesn't matter if no one else on the planet ever listens to you or agrees with you or sees the world through your point of view. You are unique and special just by merit of being you, and that's good enough. You don't need anyone else's approval. Peace....talk to you soon Maria ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change The courage to change the one I can And the wisdom to know its me

Maria "Grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change The courage to change the one I can And the wisdom to know its me"
I love the abridged and adapted version of the poem! First time I read it I thought you'd made a mistake, 2nd read proved there was no mistake. I hope I remember it, it is very relevant to my life right now. Thank you. Alice
